The theme for Stake Conference was:
. . .if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.
Doctrine and Covenants 38:30
We were counseled to prepare for that day when things will be tough.
We can do this by
1.) developing FAITH in our Savior Jesus Christ and believing in the words of His servants.
2.) Having HOPE in Him and praying to him. We should acknowledge His hand in all things.
and
3.) We should possess CHARITY. We should love others like Christ loves us. We should look for acts of service we can perform to ease the burdens of others. We should increase our fast offering, even if only by a few dollars.
We were also told to be diligent in four areas, PRAYER, SCRIPTURE STUDY, SACRAMENT MEETING ATTENDANCE, and TEMPLE ATTENDANCE.
The parable of the Ten Virgins was also used as an example.
